The first step to making Butterbeer is to measure the butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping) and butter into a 2 cup (16 oz) glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1½ minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely incorporated.
The second step in making Butterbeer is to stir and cool the mixture for 30 seconds, then slowly mix in the cream soda (or root beer or club soda or ginger ale - but I prefer cream soda for butterbeer). Mixture may be quite fizzy.
Serve in two coffee mugs or small glasses; a perfectly warm treat for two!
